Leo Kapural, M.D., Ph.D. is a Pain Physician at the Carolinas Pain Institute and Center for Clinical Research. He is also a member of the clinical faculty at Florida Atlantic University Charles E. Schmidt College of Medicine. Dr. Kapural served as a Professor of Anesthesiology at the Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine, Case Western University, and Wake Forest University, School of Medicine.He is an active member of several professional organizations and an invited speaker to many national and international meetings. He served as Director-At-Large of the American Academy of Pain Medicine, the International Neuromodulation Society, and the North American Neuromodulation Society.
Dr. Kapural’s experience encompasses teaching and clinical education, extensive research, and innovations for pain treatment which brought him two Innovator Awards. His research findings have been published in over 200 journal articles, more than 400 abstracts, three books, and 40 book chapters. He is the founder of Bestopiniondoctor.com, a chronic pain second opinion platform. The research center where Leo Kapural conducts his studies is consistently listed as the largest and most successful chronic pain research site in the United States.
