Stavros Zanos is a physician-scientist living in New York. He works in the fields of neuroscience, neuromodulation, neuroimmunology, cardiovascular and translational medicine, and early-stage clinical research; he is also a medical educator. After obtaining his MD degree from Aristotle University Medical School (Thessaloniki, Greece), Stavros trained in internal medicine and cardiology in Thessaloniki and Athens, Greece, respectively, and earned a PhD in Physiology & Biophysics/Neuroscience from the University of Washington (Seattle, WA), where he also served as senior fellow and instructor. Stavros is currently associate professor at FIMR, where he heads the Translational Neurophysiology lab (TNPlab.org). The lab investigates the regulation of immunity and physiological homeostasis by the autonomic nervous system, develops methods to deliver precision autonomic neuromodulation and investigates neuroimmune with an inflammatory component, especially diseases of the heart, lung and vessels.
